Former President Joe Biden has revealed that he has been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive form’ of cancer.
The 82-year-old’s personal office released a statement statement today (May 18).
It read: “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.
“On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”
The statement continued: “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.
“The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

The 46th president of the United States was elected president on November 7, 2020 – beating President Donald Trump at the polls.
The Democrat went on to finish his first and only term in office on January 20, when his successor, 78-year-old Trump, reclaimed the White House having beaten Biden’s former vice-president Kamala Harris.
Biden ran his own presidential campaign for a second term in the Oval Office, but with just three months left he ultimately pulled out of the race.
His statement addressed to his ‘fellow Americans’ read in part: “Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.
“Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans.
“We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.”
The statement continued: “I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Before concluding: “I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”

Donald Trump has argued why Joe Biden ‘could not be trusted with sensitive information’ after revoking his security clearance and prohibiting him from attending intelligence briefings.
Despite no longer serving as leaders of the United States, all former presidents are typically invited to classified intelligence briefings as a courtesy.
However, earlier this week, 47th President of the US Donald Trump revealed former President Joe Biden’s security clearance allowing him to attend such meetings would be revoked.
In a post shared to Truth Social on February 7, Trump wrote there’s ‘no need’ for Biden to ‘continue receiving access to classified information’ and so the government would ‘immediately’ be ‘revoking Biden’s security clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings’.
The reason? Well, Trump claimed Biden ‘set this precedent in 2021’ when he ‘instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents‘.
And he didn’t stop there either, going on to comment on why Biden apparently cannot ‘be trusted’ with such information anyway.

Trump’s post continued: “The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information.
“I will always protect our National Security – JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The ‘poor memory’ comment is from a report by special counsel Robert Hur from February last year which saw Biden described as a ‘well meaning, elderly man’ with a ‘poor memory,’ drawing on an alleged incident which saw Biden struggle to remember the year his son Beau passed away from cancer, BBC reports.
At the time, Biden refuted the claims, telling reporters: “I’m well-meaning, and I’m an elderly man, and I know what the hell I’m doing.” And a transcript later suggested Biden was not directly asked when his son had passed.
It’s not just Biden who’s had his security clearance revoked either, with Trump signing an executive order ‘holding former government officials accountable for election interference and improper disclosure of sensitive government information’.

The order ‘directs the revocation of any active or current security clearances held by: (i) the former intelligence officials who engaged in misleading and inappropriate political coordination with the 2020 Biden presidential campaign; and John R. Bolton’.
Former top US military commander Mark Milley – who has been vocal in his criticism of Trump – and former chief medical advisor to the president, Anthony Fauci, have had their security clearance revoked alongside Trump’s own former National Security Advisor, John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

A woman is raising awareness of the symptoms she ‘brushed off’ for ‘years’ before being diagnosed with colon cancer.
It can be easy to fall down the rabbit hole of googling symptoms, catastrophizing and self-diagnosing yourself with some rogue disease.
However, it can also be easy to spot small symptoms and dismiss them, reassuring yourself it was a one off, is nothing to worry about and because you’re feeling fit and healthy, you’re fine.
However, a woman named Crystal who ended up with a ‘shock’ diagnosis of colon cancer in 2022 has since opened up about when she ‘first noticed something was off’ but why it took ‘years of ignoring the symptoms’ before she was finally diagnosed.
In an interview with The Patient Story, Crystal explained she ‘started to notice there was blood in [her] stool’ (poo) in 2012 – a whole decade before her diagnosis.
“It would last for a couple of days,” she continued. “And so I would google it and it would say it could be anything from haemorrhoids to colon cancer.
“There were so many things it could be but naturally, I’m just like, ‘Well, I don’t have cancer, so it’s probably haemorrhoids or something.'”
Crystal recalls the blood would stop appearing ‘after a couple of days’ and so ultimately she ‘just kind of let it go’.
But a few years ago, she decided to go to a doctor.

The doctor scheduled a colonoscopy for Crystal – a colonoscopy ‘an examination of the inside of your large intestine (colon),’ Cleveland Clinic explains.
“It’s helpful for diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. It can also help treat and prevent colon cancer. Healthcare providers recommend routine colonoscopies for middle-aged and older adults to screen for cancer,” it states.
However, after getting ‘really sick’ from drinking the liquid you need to consume prior to the colonoscopy, Crystal didn’t end up going through with the examination.
“And I didn’t reschedule. I didn’t go back,” she continued. “And then as the years went on, it became easier to just kind of ignore.”
Crystal explained the blood in her stools would ‘come back’ but then ‘go away’ – the fluctuation making it easier for her to dismiss the symptom.
But in 2022, she started experiencing ‘really excruciating pain’ in her lower abdomen.

She described it as being ‘almost like a menstrual cramp but way worse’.
Crystal rushed herself to urgent care, but ultimately after the pain went away after several days, she left.
However, when she began experiencing abnormal UTIs – her urine a ‘really disgusting smell’ – she got antibiotics, but the UTIs returned weeks later – this going on for around two to three months.
When the antibiotics continued to not work, Crystal underwent a CAT scan and was called straight back so doctors could do a scope of her bladder – doctors noticing something ‘intruding into it’.
After being sent to a bigger hospital, Crystal had further scans alongside finally getting a colonoscopy and was ultimately diagnosed with colon cancer.
Crystal went through multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and lost her bladder too.
Despite the trauma of the experience, she reflects it forced her to ‘let people in’, advising anyone else in a similar position to do the same.
She said: “That’s the only thing that got me through it.”

President Donald Trump has explained why he believes a ‘sad’ decision made by Joe Biden should have been different.
After accusing former President Biden of corruption this week, Trump has opened up about why he thinks the Democrat made a ‘mistake’ before leaving office.
In his first TV interview since making his return to the White House after being inaugurated on January 20, Trump appeared to draw parallels between his tax and corruption lawsuits and Biden’s choice to pardon his family members.
“It’s really hard to say that they shouldn’t have to go through it all,” he told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

The 78-year-old claimed that Biden, 82, received ‘very bad advice’ minutes before leaving office.
Trump said he was given the option to pardon himself in 2021 but declined as he didn’t think he had done anything wrong.
“I was given the option. They said, ‘Sir, would you like to pardon everybody, including yourself?’ I said, ‘I’m not going to pardon anybody. We didn’t do anything wrong’,” the president explained.
However, he believes that Biden should have taken a different path when pardoning others.
Biden pardoned several of his family members in one of his last acts as President of the United States and in a statement issued before Trump was sworn into office, the White House shared a message on Biden’s behalf.
It read: “My family has been subjected to unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me – the worst kind of partisan politics. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe these attacks will end.
“I believe in the rule of law, and I am optimistic that the strength of our legal institutions will ultimately prevail over politics. But baseless and politically motivated investigations wreak havoc on the lives, safety, and financial security of targeted individuals and their families.

“Even when individuals have done nothing wrong and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage their reputations and finances.”
As for Biden’s choice to pardon others and not himself, Trump was stumped.
“This guy went around giving everybody pardons,” he said. “And you know, the funny thing, maybe the sad thing, is he didn’t give himself a pardon. And if you look at it, it all had to do with him.”
Trump continued: “I went through four years of hell by this scum that we had to deal with.
“I spent millions of dollars in legal fees, and I won, but I did it the hard way. It’s really hard to say that they shouldn’t have to go through it all. So it’s very hard to say that.”
“Remember this,” he added. “Joe Biden got very bad advice…
“Joe Biden has very bad advisers. Somebody advised Joe Biden to give pardons to everybody but him.”
Trump then told Hannity he would defer to Congress as to whether they should investigate Biden and his pardons.

A lip reader has shared his thoughts on a viral video of Barron Trump and Joe Biden after viewers were left desperate to know what the new president’s son said.
The exchange between Barron and Biden took place at the inauguration of Donald Trump yesterday (January 20), when he was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
The event was attended by former presidents including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as Biden and multiple members of Trump’s family, which is how Biden and Barron ended up greeting each other at one point during the video.
In one angle of the scene which has since gone viral, Biden can be seen leaning in to shake Barron’s hand while speaking to him. The younger Trump then appears to lean towards the outgoing president and make a comment that left viewers absolutely hooked, with people desperate for insight into what he said.
“Barron wiped that smile from Biden’s face. What do you think he said?” one Twitter user wrote as they shared the video.
Another responded: “I would really love to know.”

After taking a look at the viral clip, lip reader Jeremy Freeman shared his thoughts on what Biden and Barron could have said to one another.
Freeman told LADbible that as Biden shook Barron’s hand, he told him: “It’s good to see you man.”
According to Freeman, Barron then responded: “Exactly.”
Without audio it’s hard to know for certain what was said during the exchange, but a new angle of the moment has now shed more light on what went down.
In the more recently emerged footage, it becomes apparent that after shaking Biden’s hand, Barron moved on to shaking the hand of Kamala Harris – it’s just the angle of the initial video that makes him look like he was leaning closely to Biden.
After viewers saw the new angle, Barron received praise for being a ‘gentleman’ and showing ‘class’ by shaking Harris’ hand after she went up against his dad in the race for president.
“That’s a bit of ‘class’ right there by Baron Trump,” one viewer wrote, as another added: “Direct eye contact and a handshake. A respectful thing. Young men don’t do this very often nowadays.”
Barron, an 18-year-old New York University student, was joined at the inauguration by his mother, Melania Trump, as well as his brothers and sisters.
