Donald Trump launches scathing attack after new poll showed what US really thinks of him 5 months into presidency

Donald Trump has taken to Truth Social to dub the latest opinion poll as ‘fake’

Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack after a new poll detailed what the people of America really think of him, some five months after he returned as president.

After becoming the 47th POTUS in January, Trump promised to do things differently to his predecessor, Joe Biden.

The Republican president has introduced a ton of changes since returning to the Oval Office, with some being more controversial than others.

Most recently, Trump has introduced his ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, which led to his very public bust-up with Elon Musk, after the Tesla founder dubbed it an ‘abomination’.

There’a also been anti-ICE protests that have engulfed LA, while rising tensions in the Middle East between Israel and Iran have even seen Trump get involved.

Many opinion polls on the president have been released in recent weeks, where participants were asked to judge Trump on a variety of different issues, including how he’s handled the economy, immigration, and foreign policy.

A new poll conducted by Fox News found 46 percent approve of Trump’s handling of immigration, while 53 percent disapprove.

As for foreign policy, a lowly 43 percent stated they approve of Trump’s way on the world stage, but 57 percent disapprove of the president in that area.

Those surveyed were also unimpressed with how Trump has handled the economy and inflation so far, strong points from the president’s first term.

After the poll was published on Fox News, Trump took to his Truth Social account to issue a scathing response.

The president wrote: “The Crooked FoxNews Polls got the Election WRONG, I won by much more than they said I would, and have been biased against me for years. They are always wrong and negative. It’s why MAGA HATES FoxNews, even though their anchors are GREAT.

“This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work. Now a new FoxNews poll comes out this morning giving me a little more than 50% at the Border, and yet the Border is miraculously perfect, NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH.

“60,000 people came in with Sleepy Joe in the same month last year. I hate FAKE pollsters, one of the Worst, but Fox will never change their discredited pollster!”

The Fox News poll wasn’t all doom and gloom for Trump, however, as 53 percent of those polled said they approve of the president’s handling of border security, compared to 46 percent who don’t.

The outlet notes that the survey ‘includes interviews with a sample of 1,003 registered voters randomly selected from a national voter file’.

Donald Trump makes deadly warning after Israel bombs Iran’s nuclear sites in devastating attack

Israel’s attack comes as tensions have escalated over Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme

President Donald Trump has described the bombing of Iran from Israel as a ‘very successful attack’ as he urges them to ‘make a deal’.

The 78-year-old has been pushing for the Middle Eastern country to sign a nuclear deal with the group of world powers known as the P5+1 – which includes the US, UK, Germany, France, China and Russia, who’ve all been in negotiation with Iran in regards to its nuclear program since 2006.

For those unaware, the deal was for Iran to bring to a halt its nuclear development program – with world leaders worried that the country intends to create a nuclear artillery for warfare. In return for Iran axing the program, the US and other leading nations would lift the sanctions placed on Iran.

The agreement is similar to the first deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), struck in 2015. However, Trump opted the US out of it in May 2018 during his first term as president, labelling it ‘defective at its core’.

The Trump administration then sought to reinstate the sanctions on Iran, a move which the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said ‘disgraced’ US prestige and liberal democracy, according to the BBC.

Upon his return to the White House, Trump issued a batch of sanctions on Iran, this time directed at their’ oil network’, as per Al Jazeera.

Between 2012 and 2016, the Iranian economy lost a total of $160 billion in revenue from its oil supply alone. After Trump reimposed sanctions in 2018, the Iranian rial, its local currency, dropped to a record low.

Iran is currently in a deep recession and has been since the sanctions were put in place.

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done,” the Republican wrote on Truth Social.

“I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come – And they know how to use it.”

Since then, Israel launched a major attack in the early hours of this morning (June 13) that set off explosions in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Israel said it hit ‘dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in different areas of Iran’, killing Iran’s top military and nuclear scientists (via the BBC).

Israel’s attack comes as tensions have escalated over Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that the strikes were ‘a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival’.

Trump’s post continued: “Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!

“There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end.

“Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!”

He later added: “Two months ago I gave Iran a 60 day ultimatum to ‘make a deal.’ They should have done it! Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t get there. Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!”

He also told CNN that the strikes were a ‘very successful attack’, adding that the US ‘supports Israel’.

Donald Trump reveals what he really thinks of Elon Musk after billionaire made major U-turn on Trump Epstein claims

The president and his former ‘first buddy’ have been embroiled in a bitter feud

Donald Trump has detailed what he really thinks of Elon Musk amid the very public feud between the former best buddies.

The Tesla boss was a huge part of the POTUS’ second election campaign last year, with Musk even claiming Trump wouldn’t have beat Kamala Harris to the White House had he not been involved.

Trump recruited the SpaceX founder to help lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was tasked with slashing unnecessary government spending.

Musk remained in the role up until very recently, but things have since turned sour between the president and the world’s richest man.

The pair’s feud seemingly stems from differing views over Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, with Musk dubbing it an ‘abomination’ and accusing the proposed legislation of undoing all the work he did at DOGE.

Dismissing that suggestion, Trump said he was ‘disappointed’ in the tech mogul and insisted that Musk knew the ins-and-outs of the bill before he left DOGE.

Musk later took to Twitter alleging that the president is named in the Jeffrey Epstein files in since-deleted tweets, which led to the White House stating the whole palaver was an ‘unfortunate episode from Elon’.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk alleged on social media. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Musk added in a follow-up tweet: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

Musk has since spoken out after making the controversial comments, and it appears the billionaire has some regrets about making them.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on Twitter today (June 11).

While many would expect that relationship to now over, Trump has indicated it may not be the end for himself and his former ‘first buddy’.

“Look, I have no hard feelings. I was really surprised that that happened… I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually,” the president said on the Pod Force One podcast with New York Post columnist Miranda Devine.

Trump continued: “I guess I could [patch things up with him] but we have to straighten out the country. And my sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it’s ever been. And I think we can do that.”

When asked previously whether he believed the relationship was over, Trump told press in the Oval Office: “I would assume so, yeah. I’m too busy doing other things.”

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are reportedly set to meet amid their ongoing fallout.

Musk and Trump are thought to have been friends for some time and the SpaceX founder was part of his 2024 presidential campaign, and spoke at numerous rallies.

When Trump came back into office, he wasted no time in recruiting Musk to be part of his administration and hired him as the head of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk remained in the role up until very recently, and it’s since then that things have turned sour between him and the president.

It all stems from the billionaire’s criticism of Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’. Some key parts of the controversial bill includes no tax on Social Security, and no tax on overtime and tips.

The controversial legislation was passed by the House of Republicans at the end of May and is now on its way to the Senate.

Musk had since made his feelings about the bill very clear and branded it an ‘abomination’.

Clapping back, Trump said he was ‘disappointed’ in the tech mogul and insisted that Musk knew the ins-and-outs of the bill before his departure from the administration.

And the very public fallout has since escalated even further. Taking to Twitter, Musk dropped a ‘really big bomb’ and alleged that the president in the Jeffrey Epstein files, which is the reason the documentation has not been made fully public. He did not provide any evidence for his claims.

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the accusation, calling it an ‘unfortunate episode from Elon’, adding (via Sky News): “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill [a Republican tax and spending bill] because it does not include the policies he wanted.

“The president is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”

As things grow increasingly more tense between the pair, it’s expected that Musk and Trump are set to meet with one another today (June 6).

Politico’s White House Bureau Chief Dasha Burns allegedly spoke with the president last night who divulged such information, says The Independent.

While he’s issues scathing attacks on Trump, it appears as if Musk might want to call a truce for the good of the country.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman tweeted: “I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country.”

“We are much stronger together than apart,” he added.

Replying the post, Musk said: “You’re not wrong.”

In contrast to this, the Tesla CEO has continued his scathing posts about Trump. In one tweet he said: “The Trump tariffs will cause a recession in the second half of this year.”

In another tweet, someone suggested that Trump be impeached and replaced by JD Vance, to which Musk reposted and wrote ‘yes’.

Donald Trump has issued a blunt five-word response after revealing what he really thinks about his former best buddy Elon Musk.

Musk was a huge part of the POTUS’ election campaign, and Trump later recruited the Tesla founder to the role of head of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) upon his return to the White House.

Speaking to CNN, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted. The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”

The president spoke to the New York Post on Friday (June 6) and issued a blunt five-word response amid the ongoing feud with Musk.

“Nothing catches me by surprise.” Trump told the outlet.

He added: “The numbers are through the roof, the stock market is up, billions are pouring in from tariffs, and my poll numbers are the highest they’ve ever been. Other than that, what can I tell you, right?”

Trump has reiterated Musk knew everything about the bill, so the recent outburst by Musk has likely caught him out a bit.

Nonetheless, the Republican leader seems to have full confidence in the bill.

The president added: “He knew the bill as well as anybody. The bill is great. It’s going to pass, but the bill is great, and it’s going [to] be great for everybody, including him.

“And you see it now. And take a look at what happened today with the job numbers. They’re through the roof, and the stock market’s up already 600 points.”

Leavitt has since spoken further on the feud on Fox News’ Hannity.

When asked about the tensions between Trump and Musk, she shared: “Just days ago, Elon thanked the president for his incredible leadership to cut waste and fraud in our government, which this one big beautiful bill does.”

The press secretary added: “The only difference between Friday and today is Elon went back to his companies and as a businessman, he has a right to speak for his companies, but as president, President Trump has a responsibility to fight for this country.”
