Perhaps you’ve already blazed your way through that ‘truly riveting’ crime series people are obsessed with, or even this psychological thriller which left viewers ‘messed up for hours.’
If you’re on the hunt for more recommendations, then look no further than this post-apocalyptic TV series.
The six-parter has prompted rave reviews from fans, with one boldly declaring: “When we say cinema, this is what we’re talking about.”
A spin-off to a popular serial drama, it explores the love story of two major characters whose futures were previously left up in the air.

The series aired on AMC last year before joining Netflix (AMC)
We’re talking about, of course, The Walking Dead and its 2024 follow-up, The Ones Who Live.
Maybe now’s a good time for a spoiler alert…
The Walking Dead concluded after 11 seasons in 2022, leaving fans with a fair few loose ends.
We never did learn the fate of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) – who was last seen taken away from home in odd circumstances in season nine – and Michonne (Danai Gurira), who set out to find him in season 10.
Well, The Ones Who Live is all about their long-awaited reunion, exploring how they reconnect after being separated for so long – and how they fight to make their way home.
Watch the trailer below:
Created by Scott M. Gimple – head of The Walking Dead universe – as well as Lincoln and Gurira, the series is now available to stream on Netflix in the US.
Taking to Rotten Tomatoes, fans have been quick to praise The Ones Who Live, as one person declared it ‘the best spinoff of the entire franchise.’
A second concurred: “Binged it all in one day, it was very well written,” as a third wrote: “Awesome, some of the best Walking Dead content I’ve seen in years.”
A fourth hailed it ‘outstanding’ and praised the show’s emotional depth, as another fan compared it to ‘the peak seasons’ of the original show, adding: “Andrew Lincoln is still amazing as Rick even though he’s at a different place than we’ve seen before. He and Danai both shine in this.”

Fans of a hospital drama have been wiping back tears as they get a chance to tune in to the popular show for its final season.
As we enter 2025, you know what that means – there’ll be new movies and TV shows for us to welcome the New Year.
That doesn’t mean to say that 2024 didn’t leave us out to dry, as many viewers were raving about a ‘unbelievable’ thriller and a true crime series that involves Barack Obama, an Elvis impersonator and a poison plot.
Netflix also ended the year by adding a hospital drama from 2018, which UK viewers were unable to watch – until now.

The NBC show recently arrived on Netflix (NBC)
The show is called New Amsterdam, and follows Dr Max Goodwin (Ryan Egghold) who joins one of the oldest public hospitals in New York as a medical director.
Unlike his predecessors, Goodwin is set on making some changes, rustling some feathers and doing all he can to remove bureaucracy, address neglect and ensure better care for its patients.
You can watch the trailer for season one here:
New Amsterdam concluded its fifth season at the start of 2023, however, it’s recent addition to the streaming platform has reinvigorated the love for the show on social media, with fans taking to Twitter to rave about it.
As you can imagine, the show often deals with sensitive subject matter and this has really resonated with some viewers, and some have gone as far to call the show ’11 out 10′.
One Twitter user joked: “My name is Rob and I’m a telly addict. I’ve just found New Amsterdam on Netflix. See you in a few weeks!

Another commented: “I introduced the wife to New Amsterdam on Netflix last night. I’ve seen most series already but 2 episodes in it already hits me in the feels.”
“Such a good series with so many heart string moments. I won’t lie though (no spoilers) I’m already prepping the tissues.”
Someone else commented that they ‘can’t get enough of this series’, while a fourth said: “New Amsterdam on Netflix 11 out of 10.”
A fifth viewer had high praise for the show’s overall premise, calling it an ‘amazing’ watch.
On Rotten Tomatoes, there isn’t a Tomatometer rating and it does hold a rather meh 50 percent popcorn meter rating. However, on IMDB, the show boasts a solid 8/10 following over 52,000 reviews.
So it might be worth binging yourself and seeing if the hospital antics resonate with you.

A new Netflix series has been getting rave reviews, with some going as far as giving it a 10/10.
The true crime drama is based on a case involving the murder of a woman and a child in Linköping, Sweden, which sparked the second-largest criminal investigation in the country’s history.
The incident occurred in 2004, and eventually the case went cold as there was no clear motive or suspect.
It wasn’t until 16 years later that a genealogist made some progress in solving the murders.

Netflix fans have been giving a new true crime series 10/10 reviews (Netflix)
Titled The Breakthrough, Netflix fans have wasted no time in binging the Swedish-language, four-part series and have since been sharing their reviews of it online.
Someone penned on Twitter: “We just finished E2 of the four episode Swedish true crime TV mini-series ‘The Breakthrough’, via Netflix, and it is the good stuff. Strongly recommended.”
A different viewer said the show was ‘truly riveting’, as another labeled it as ‘binge-worthy’.
On IMDb, some Netflix subscribers have given the series 10/10.
“This miniseries has been crafted with high sensibility, the characters are developed in perfect way and all the actors do an amazing job,” one person’s glowing review began.
“It’s an immersive experience, that lead to feel the pain of the parents, the struggling and the weight of responsibility that investigators have.”

They went on to say of their review: “It’s the first time I give a 10 to something, but this deserve it all.”
Someone else, who gave The Breakthrough 10/10, said: “Great performance by all the actors from beginning to end. I found the understated urgency and perseverance of the lead detective really touching and well acted. Overall, I watched it all in one day and felt on the edge of my seat to the very end.”
A third added: “This kept my interest throughout the series. It had drama, tenderness and suspense that kept me riveted to the screen from beginning to end! An excellent series.”

The series is based on a Swedish cold case that went unsolved for 16 years (Netflix)
Starring Peter Eggers and Mattias Nordkvist, The Breakthrough was directed by Lisa Siwe. Discussing the show, Siwe said to Netflix: “Though this is a fictional drama series about a crime, it is, above all, a depiction of a human tragedy – where we place our focus on the victims and the investigation rather than the perpetrator.
“It’s a story about the compassion and care for one another that is needed to move on when terrible things happen.”
The Breakthrough is now streaming on Netflix.

Move over Die Hard, as there’s a new festive thriller in town and Netflix viewers can’t get enough of it.
There are definite similarities between the Bruce Willis Christmas classic (it’s a Christmas film, no arguing!) and the new movie on Netflix that has got fans raving.
Starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, viewers have given it a ’10/10′ and claim to have watched it twice already.
Not bad, considering it only hit the streaming platform on December 13.

Fans have been raving about the new Netflix film, starring Taron Egerton (Netflix)
Called Carry-On, it’s led by The Shallows director Jaume Collet-Serra, and just like the famous John McClane flick the film is set on Christmas Eve.
Rocketman star Egerton plays a transportation security agent (TSA) Ethan Kopek.
He finds himself blackmailed by Bateman’s mysterious character, Traveler.
He wants Ethan to help him smuggle some dangerous items onto a Christmas flight and isn’t afraid to threaten him in the process.
Taron praised his co-star and the strange way they had to film, telling ScreenRant: “Jason was amazing. He did a couple of days with me where he actually provided the voice, and he was there recording live with me, and that was a real luxury. The rest of the time I recorded it with an actor.”
The Netflix synopsis of Carry-On reads: “A crowded airport. A dangerous suitcase. A mysterious criminal mastermind.”
It continues: “On Christmas Eve, a security officer faces the ultimate travel nightmare.”
So far it has already received an 86 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics, and fans have called it ‘outstanding’.
Sharing a photo of the film on the Netflix Bangers Facebook group, one viewer wrote: “Definitely a 10/10… have you guys seen this movie yet?”
“It’s like Die Hard but with a TSA agent, really enjoyed it!” a second commented.

Viewers have been raving about the new thriller (Netflix)
“Best movie I’ve seen on Netflix for a long time!” praised someone else.
“Outstanding! A 10!” raved one person, while another viewer on Twitter is hoping for a sequel.
“Very, very well done! Definitely gives me the Die Hard vibes and that’s an absolute compliment. Possibly room for another one?” they asked hopefully.
They’re not alone in wanting a follow-up either, as another fan suggested: “Cool movie, reminds me a 90’s action movie. Really liked it, hope there is a second next year. And yes for me it’s like Die Hard an xmas movie.”
The film also stars Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler and Logan Marshall-Green.
It was written by TJ Fixman, and it was originally intended to be the first film released for Netflix’s deal with Steven Spielberg’s production company, Amblin Partners.
The release ended up being delayed due to script rewrites, but judging by the reaction of fans it was well worth the wait.
You can stream Carry-On on Netflix now.

A Netflix series from 2021 has left viewers ‘shook for two years straight’.
If you’ve already binge-watched that ‘truly riveting’ crime series in one day like everyone else has and are looking for another Netflix hit, then there’s a British thriller which left viewers ‘messed up for hours’.

Prepare to be shook (Netflix)
The psychological thriller – comprising of one season made up of six episodes – is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough.
Created by Steve Lightfoot, the supernatural series – titled Behind Her Eyes – first premiered on Netflix in February 2021.
It centers around single mother, Louise Barnsley, who ends up embarking on an affair with her new boss, Dr David Ferguson, who also forms a friendship with his wife, Adele – if you think this is weird, just wait until you see the journey the series takes you on, there’s seriously nothing that can prepare you for some of the twists.
Behind Her Eyes stars Simona Brown, Tom Bateman, Eve Hewson and Robert Aramayo.
And even though it was first released nearly four years ago now, some Netflix viewers have only just stumbled upon it for the first time.
Steady yourself for the trailer here:
Granted, the Rotten Tomatoes score for Behind Her Eyes isn’t exactly encouraging – with the series obtaining a Tomatometer percentage of 63 and average Popcornmeter score of a pretty measly 57.
However, a Netflix user took to LADbible Facebook Group Netflix Bangers, sharing a tweet which reads: “Alright tell me a movie that made you stare blankly at a wall for 20 minutes after it finished. One that you couldn’t stop thinking about and made you question everything.”
And despite it not being a movie, one user wasted no breath in responding with: “Behind Her Eyes. That ending had me shook for two years straight. All my curiosity about Astral projection ended before it even began.”
“Gosh, me too,” another responded.

A third commented: “When I hear someone asking me to recommend them a movie/series with the crazies plot twist this is the first series that comes to my mind.”
A fourth added: “Me too. I wasn’t expecting that ending at all (although that’s nothing unusual for me haha)! I need to rewatch it to look for the signs now.”
And a fifth resolved: “Behind Her Eyes. I was messed up for hours.”
At the time of writing, there doesn’t look like there’s any sign of an upcoming second season for Behind Her Eyes much to viewers’ dismay.
It’s probably fairly unlikely there will be another too given the first was based on the novel and the plot of the book was concluded, so viewers will simply have to try and make peace with their bewilderment and fury – not everything can be wrapped up nicely in a bow, eh?
Behind Her Eyes is available to stream on Netflix now.
