Flight attendant arrested after reportedly being ‘found naked and dancing’ during flight

The flight attendant was on board a British Airways flight from San Francisco to London when the alleged incident unfolded

A flight attendant has been arrested after allegedly being high on drugs and dancing stark naked in a toilet.

According to reports, the incident took place while 30,000ft in the air at a time when the steward was meant to be serving meals to passengers on the British Airways (BA) flight from San Francisco to London, last Sunday (May 25).

The 41-year-old is said to have been arrested upon touching down at Heathrow Airport in the UK on the suspicion that he was ‘unfit for duty’, with reports claiming he had been taking drugs at the time.

His absence during meal time was noted by staff, who in turn reportedly located him in the business class ‘Club World’ cabin toilet.

His shocked colleagues are believed to have then dressed him in spare pyjamas set aside for first-class passengers and fastened him into a luxury seat for the remainder of the 10-and-a-half-hour trip.

Crew members are then believed to have had to work the rest of the flight without breaks, with one staff member alerting the authorities as to what had taken place onboard the double-decker Airbus A380-800.

The London-based Metropolitan Police force issued the following statement: “On Sunday, 25 May at 09:32hrs, police based at Heathrow airport were called by cabin crew following the concern for welfare of a man on an inbound flight from San Francisco.

“A 41-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment once the flight had landed.

“Officers arrested the man after he received medical attention. He was arrested on suspicion of being unfit for duty. He has since been released under investigation.”

Adding: “Enquiries remain on-going into the circumstances, and an investigation has been launched.”

Meanwhile, BA confirmed to UNILAD that it would not be commenting on the incident it described as a ‘police matter’.

However, an anonymous whistleblower provided an insight into what took place.

“We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working. It is an extraordinary thing to do,” they told The Sun.

“The plane was cruising at 37,000ft over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else.

“Rather than asking passengers ‘chicken or beef’, he was stripping off and dancing in the toilet. It was a long time before he was located and he was completely out of it.”

Before adding: “Not only is it really dangerous, it is a crazy way to end your BA career. This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me.”

A British woman has been arrested in Sri Lanka on suspicion of carrying 46kg of drugs into the country.

Earlier this month, Charlotte May Lee was arrested and detained on suspicion of smuggling 46 kilograms of drugs into Sri Lanka.

The 21-year-old former flight attendant from South London was stopped at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport and over $1.6 million worth of the synthetic cannabis strain kush – which can reportedly be made with ‘human bones’ – was allegedly discovered in her suitcases.

Lee has denied the accusations, with her lawyer claiming the drugs were planted without her knowledge.

What have authorities said?

A statement from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting a British woman who has been arrested in Sri Lanka and are in contact with her family and the local authorities.”

A senior customs officer in Sri Lanka also told the BBC: “Another passenger who had left Bangkok airport, almost at the same time, was arrested in another country. We arrested this lady [Ms Lee] based on profiling.”

If found guilty, The Telegraph reports that Lee could face up to 25 years in prison.

And Lee’s lawyers have since spoken out too.

What have Lee’s lawyers said?

A legal representative reportedly told the BBC that Lee remains in prison in the city of Negombo.

She’s said to be in contact with her family and is being visited daily.

Lee herself told Mail Online: “I had never seen them [the drugs] before. I didn’t expect it all when they pulled me over at the airport.

“I thought it was going to be filled with all my stuff.”

And Lee isn’t the only young British woman to have been arrested this month on suspicion of drug offences.

Bella May Culley reported missing by her family while backpacking in Thailand before later being found in Georgia on May 10.

The 18-year-old was later discovered after being arrested at Tbilisi International Airport, Georgia.

It’s reported by local media she was allegedly in possession of ’34 hermetically sealed packages containing marijuana … as well as 20 packages of hashish’.

The Georgian interior ministry said in a statement: “B.K, born in 2006, is charged with illegally purchasing and storing a particularly large amount of narcotics, illegally purchasing and storing the narcotic drug marijuana, and illegally importing it into Georgia.

“The committed crime envisions up to 20 years – or life imprisonment.”

A lawyer who spoke to the teen told The Sun that she believes she’s been ‘used and manipulated’.

The gesture appeared to tick off his attorney and farther afield after the footage was posted to the social media website.

While another typed: “With that attitude….. he will be back, the state will get a second bite at that apple.”

And a third penned: “Hold on so he was found guilty and then not guilty I’m confused. Was this an appeal?”

A 15-year-old girl from Utah has been located after walking into a police station to identify herself six weeks after going missing.

On April 21, 2025, a 15-year-old girl named Alisa Petrov from South Jordan in Utah was reported as a ‘runaway’ after being spotted leaving her school in American Fork.

The South Jordan Police Department reported Alisa as ‘attempting to meet individuals she met online using multiple social media platforms and chat applications’.

“Alisa is listed as a Runway Juvenile who is endangered,” a statement from the department read. “Any knowledge of her whereabouts should be reported to Law Enforcement immediately.”

The department took to Facebook on April 29 to alert the public to Alisa’s disappearance.

It stated the teen had ‘walked away’ from her school, ‘purchased items at a local gas station’ and was ‘later observed boarding a UTA train’ before exiting at Provo station.

“Alisa reportedly asked multiple people to aid in her travel to Las Vegas,” the force added.

South Jordan Police Department says it has located Alisa

In the latest update, the South Jordan Police Department shared an immediate release earlier today (June 2).

It reads: “In the evening hours of June 1, 2025, a young female voluntarily made contact with the Colorado Springs, Colorado Police Department and identified herself as Alisa Petrov.

“Alisa’s identity was confirmed. Alisa is in good health and safe with Colorado officials.”

The statement noted Alisa’s parents have also been ‘notified of her location’ and they’re working alongside them to ‘bring her home’.

It follows the police department revealing it’d made several arrests while tracking Alisa down – the men accused of having contact with the teen prior to her going missing but none accused of being involved in her disappearance.

Arrests made within the investigation

In an update on May 20, the department identified a man named Matthew Nicholas Menard from Miami, Florida.

It revealed it had filed charges against him for enticement of a minor, criminal solicitation and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

A second man named William Taylor Glines from Texas was identified, with police filing charges on Glines for enticement of a minor, criminal solicitation, attempted aggravated exploitation of a minor, aggravated exploitation of a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.

The department alleges the pair ‘communicated with Alisa Petrov prior to her leaving school on April 21’.

On May 28, authorities revealed Menard had ‘self-surrendered’ to the department.

A ‘third adult male’ named Samuel Mitchell from Herriman, Utah, was also arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and booked into jail.

And Alisa’s parents have spoken out on a website they started in a bid to find their daughter.

The site thanks the police department alongside Salt Lake City FBI, as well as the family’s friends and ‘Jaz from Missing In America Network for the best emotional support in such stressful situations’.

It resolves: “Also special thank you to our local community for Praying!”

Air hostess arrested after 1kg of gold was found hidden in rectum as more flight crew probed

She was only caught because her movements arose suspicions

We’re all thinking the same thing: how could you fit a kilo of gold up your rear end?

Well, an air hostess managed to take off with 960 grams of gold in her rectum – although she and a fellow cabin crew member were eventually caught when they landed.

Yeah, the pair didn’t make off with it, but it seems a little bizarre why anyone would go through the pressure of doing so. Typically, in western countries like the USCanada and the UK, it’s drugs that get couriered up the anus of mules.

But the incident happened in India, where surprisingly, there’s a huge market for smuggling gold (we’ll dive into why later).

First, let’s talk about 26-year-old air hostess Surabhi Khatun, who worked as a cabin crew member for Air India Express when she was arrested in May last year by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence as her flight from Muscat landed in Kannur International Airport.

Concerns were understood to have been raised as her movement was cited as being suspicious, when officials at customs stopped her for questioning Khatun refused to get an X-ray.

Following her refusal, the official obtained an order from a magistrate to undertake a ‘medical examination’ – at which point they discovered 960 grams of gold in compound form the Kolkata native’s bottom.

Khatun was sentenced to 14 days in a women’s prison in Kannur.

“With a value of $89k. I would have trained a little before moving it. You know like shoving it up my ass and walking around the house with it,” one person posted on Reddit.

Her sentencing was the first of its kind, where a member of an airline was caught smuggling gold in their rectum – but it wasn’t the first time she had done it.

So why is there a market for gold smuggling in India?

Back in 2012, the Indian government increased gold import duties by three times to 15 percent – with the country at the time being the biggest gold consumer in the world.

So, to evade high tariffs, people got creative and were prepared to pay ‘gold mules’ 54,000 rupees per kilogram, about $623 – that was shortly after the tax hike.

By the middle of last year, smugglers were being paid an estimated 1.3 million rupees to do so, around $15,000.

With a higher demand and a lower supply, prices of gold have drastically increased – with smuggled gold coming in a lot cheaper, they can be sold for higher profits.
