Fans of the 40-year-old Virgin have been left shocked after finding out that someone from the cast was sentenced to prison for a horrible crime.
This film is one that may have stood the test of time as being a hilarious watch for many.
It’s got it all: romance, awkwardness, sex references, and a full-on live waxing session with bloopers intact.
So, it’s no surprise that the romantic comedy can kept its fanbase since its release in the 2000s.
Not only is the plot fantastic, but you’ve Steve Carell in it. Not to mention Paul Rudd, Kevin Hart and Seth Rogen too.

The 2005 flick saw Carell portray the nerdy and naive Andy Stitzer who, finally attempts to lose his virginity at the age of 40.
Written by Carell and Judd Apatow, it was an immediate hit at the box office and raked in $177 million against its $26 million budget.
However, many will be saddened to find out that one of the mainstays in the film who provided much-loved comedy was actually later arrested and sentenced to prison.
Do you remember Haziz?
He was one of Carell’s character’s co-workers who had some of the funniest lines on the movie set, and he was very much loved by all who saw the flick.
Unfortunately, when the cameras stopped rolling on Shelley Malil, the actor, he went on to commit a terrible crime against his then-girlfriend.

Kendra Beebe and Malil were dating (Good Morning America)
Malil, who also appeared in Scrubs and NYPD Blue, was sentenced in 2010 to 12 years to life in prison for the premeditated attempted murder on the woman, who he had stabbed 23 times.
While he was released on parole in 2018, the 60-year-old crashed and burned his potential movie star career and traumatized the woman he was supposed to love and protect.
At the time, he had admitted ‘trying to murder’ Kendra Beebe outside her home, while her children were inside which led to her receiving a punctured lung, multiple wounds to her neck, chest, back and arms as well as life-changing injuries to her face.
It is reported that she was attacked with a kitchen knife, and then a broken wine glass which narrowly missed her carotid artery as her children watched on.
The Independent quoted a report by San Diego Union-Tribune in which Halil told the court: “I wasn’t trying to hurt her – I was trying to murder her.”
According to People, Beebe was talking with a friend on her patio when Malil arrived and stabbed her in her torso, with the woman telling Good Morning America: “When I was going to give him a hug, he pulled out his hand and just started stabbing me.”
The former actor said as per a report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, that he had been drinking heavily, and grabbed a knife from his home and drove to Beebe’s house to ‘annihilate’ her because thought he had been slighted by her the day prior to the attack.
Lt. Phil Brust of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement: “Malil and the victim had apparently been in a dating relationship which recently ended.”
Fans who found out about his crimes have been left shocked.
One person wrote: “He did what??!”
Another said: “We did a show together. Saw him at an audition later on. Had some small talk. Last thing he told me before he left was to, ‘Stay positive.'”
Someone else wrote: “I’m surprised they let him out. Doesn’t seem like enough time.”

The man who shot and killed a couple during their first date has been sentenced to life without parole.
Joseph Jimenez Jr, 23, shot Rylee Goodrich, 18, and Anthony Barajas, 19, in the back of the head at Regal Edwards Corona Crossings theater in California.
The shooting occurred on July 26, 2021, with Goodrich pronounced dead at the scene.
Barajas was placed on life support in hospital before succumbing to his head injury. His family confirmed his death five days later.
The couple were watching horror movie Forever Purge when they were fatally shot, with Barajas posting to his TikTok – which boasted almost a million followers – about how he was ‘excited to find someone to love’ shortly before.
Goodrich was a sophomore at Grand Canyon University and owned an eyelash business at the time of her death.

Despite the ‘execution style’ killings, Jimenez Jr pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, as he suffered from schizophrenia and ‘ran out of his pills’ before the shooting occurred.
Jimenez Jr claimed to have heard voices from somebody called ‘Abigail’ in his head, who was telling him that the teens were a danger to him.
Speaking to the Riverside Press-Enterprise in 2021, Jimenez Jr claimed the voices told him the only way he could ‘save himself’ from the victims was to shoot them.
However, during the trial in December last year, Superior Court Judge Timothy J. Hollenhorst ruled Jimenez Jr as sane at the time of the shooting.
It’s also said that he took the time to steal Goodrich’s wallet from her body before quickly making an exit from the theater.
The 23-year-old was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, and had a sentencing enhancement of personal use of a firearm causing death.

“There is no question that the defendant suffers from schizophrenia. … It is also clear to this court that the defendant was not treating his mental health issues appropriately by not regularly taking his medication,” Hollenhorst said.
A former friend of the shooter, Carlos Gonzalez, claimed that his friend was mumbling to himself prior to the movie, and kept repeating the sentence: “I can’t do that to them.”
Friends of Jimenez Jr said that they felt ‘freaked out’ by his behavior and left the theater, asking him to come with them, but he declined.
On Monday (February 26), Jimenez Jr was sentenced to life without the possibility for parole for his crimes.

A 5-year-old boy has died following an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Brooks Thomas Wilson found a 9mm gun in the back of his home and fired a single shot to his head on Thursday (August 22) according to police.
Lt. Mike Wall with the Santaquin Police Department said that his parents and siblings were home at the time, however, they were not in the room with him, as per ABC News.

He further explained that his family tried to resuscitate him while emergency responders tried their best to save the little boy. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
Authorities do not suspect foul play and charges against his parents are not currently being pursued, The Daily Mail reports.
According to Fox 13, Utah doesn’t have any laws that penalize a person for failing to secure their firearms and leaving it unattended to an unsupervised minor.
It is also not required by the state to store weapons in a certain way or require a locking device, however, investigators are looking into how he could have got his hands on a gun – which is currently unknown.
Lt. Wall also declined to comment on if or how the gun was secured, The Daily Mail says.
His family have set up a GoFundMe page in memory of Brooks, with his relative Spencer organizing the fund to ‘support our family during this time, any contributions will go towards covering funeral expenses’.
They wrote: “Brooks was always a happy and adventurous young boy, and his loving spirit will be remembered forever.

“If you feel inclined to support our family during this time, any contributions will go towards covering funeral expenses. We are thankful to know that we will be reunited with him again.”
The ‘Wilson and Hunsaker’ family also released a statement on Friday (August 23) which read: “This heartbreaking incident has taught us difficult lessons, and we deeply regret that it unfolded this way. Our hearts are shattered, and we hope that our family´s loss serves as a poignant reminder of how quickly life can change.”
In his obituary, they went on to share that Brooks had ‘lived his life to the fullest and always wore his heart on his sleeve’ and that ‘his curious nature showed a deep desire to learn and to pitch in with tasks around the home and with his dad working in the garage’.
As per The Daily Mail, Wall said that the family is ‘obviously devastated’, adding: “Obviously it’s a shock to the community. It’s always a good reminder of how quick things can happen and how fast accidents can take place.”
UNILAD has contacted the Santaquin Police Department for further comment.

Police in Washington have finally managed to identify the killer of an 18-year-old woman who was found dead on a riverbed 36 years ago.
It was August 28, 1988, when fishermen on the Puyallup River discovered the body of Tracy Whitney, a teenager who had last been seen the day before leaving a Burger King after an argument with her friends.
Her body was nude, and an autopsy revealed that she had died as a result of asphyxia from strangulation and probable smothering.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Tracy was also believed to have been sexually assaulted.
After Tracy was found, detectives launched an investigation and conducted interviews to try and track down the person responsible for her murder.
They collected DNA samples, but at the time they were unable to identify the killer, and the case went cold.
In 2005, police used the DNA they had collected through a national database, but still no positive matches were found.
It wasn’t until 2022, following a grant from the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, that a detective working on cold cases at Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was able to submit the DNA to a genetic genealogy laboratory for repeat testing.

The testing allows analysts to build a family tree based on a DNA profile, and in the case of Tracy’s murder police were able to identify a member of her killer’s family – namely his biological son.
The man’s father, John Guillot, Jr., was confirmed to be a match for the DNA collected by investigators at the time of Tracy’s murder. However, his death in January 2022 means he could not be brought to justice.
On Saturday (November 30), Pierce County Sheriff’s Office announced the case had been solved.

They wrote on Facebook: “There were no connections between Tracy and Guillot Jr and detectives believe this was a stranger abduction, rape and murder.
“Our Cold Case Unit is always looking into the past trying to find answers for families just like Tracy’s. We are glad they can finally have an answer and some closure with the solving of this case.”
Tracy’s relatives have told CBS News affiliate KIRO that the resolution of the case has brought them a sense of peace.
Her sister, Robin, added: “We believe that John Guillot Jr. likely committed other crimes. However, since he is deceased and due to current legal restrictions, his DNA cannot be uploaded into CODIS (law enforcement DNA database). We hope that this policy can be reevaluated, as it could aid in solving additional cases.”
