Sometimes, we all need something to distract us from the absolute chaos of our own lives, and having a good laugh at some nonsensical scenarios is always a good way to end your day.
And Netflix has no shortage of side-splitting comedies out there, including one about an alien disguised as a human ending up being roped into solving a murder in a sleepy Colorado town or one of the ‘craziest’ romantic comedies with an unbelievable twist.
But now, a new banger comedy TV series has dropped this week (May 22) and it’s all about the absurdity of politics.

The comedy TV series has people in a ‘chokehold’ (Netflix)
Created by Tyler Perry, She the People is making people roll on the floor laughing.
Starring Terri J. Vaughn as Antoinette Dunkerson, the new Lieutenant Governor in Mississippi, who soon realizes after winning her campaign that she may have taken on far too much than she can handle.
Throw in the revelation that her boss, Governor Harper (Robert Craighead), has a few older ideas while her family are trying to adjust to the Deep Southern culture differences…and you’ve got a shocking comedic plot.
You can watch the trailer here:
The first eight episodes of the 16-part season dropped on Thursday (May 22), and since then, fans have been begging for more.
Not only do they want more, but they also want everyone to know just how much they’re missing out on not watching it.
One fan posted on X: “with the LEGENDARY #JoMariePayton in #SheThePeople is what I didn’t know I was lacking on my TV until now!!!”
Another wrote: “She the People on Netflix is funny as f***,” while someone else said: “Y’all watching She The People on Netflix it’s so funny lmfaoo.”
“Yall She The People on Netflix might got me in a chokehold [laughing emojis] episode two only tho this s*** funny,” a fourth user said.

Lastly, a fifth commented: “She the people on Netflix 10/10 lol funny asf.”
Even though many people have loved the show so far, it’s not without its backlash. On social media, some people criticized its comedic attempts, claiming that they fell flat.
One person wrote: “Tried watching the new Tyler Perry comedy on #Netflix…She The People starring Terri Vaughn. But ain’t nothing funny about it,” while another simply called it ‘horrible’.
However, one viewer has urged people to give it a chance, writing that the comedy takes its time to ‘find its footing’ after the first couple of episodes, but they praised Vaughn as being ‘undeniably the crown jewel’.
According to The Daily Express, eight more episodes of She the People are expected to drop this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

A new show on Netflix is proving so good that fans are threatening to delete the streaming service if it doesn’t come back for more seasons.
And when you consider just how much content is available on Netflix, the fact that users are willing to lose it all over just one series is really saying something.
The series comes from the UK, but it’s a far-cry from the prim-and-proper world of Bridgerton.
Instead, the new series follows a group of people living in modern-day South London, just going about their lives when they suddenly realize they have superpowers.
It might sound a bit far-fetched, but fans have found themselves completely hooked by the premise after the new show arrived on Netflix.
Starring Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Calvin Demba and Josh Tedeku, among others, the series has been created by British musician-turned-filmmaker Andrew Onwubolu, who’s better known by his stage name, Rapman.
In an interview with Variety, Rapman explained that he’d ‘always loved the superhero stuff’, but having grown up in South London, the stories he saw in movies never ‘reflected a reality’ for him.

“I got asked what I wanted to do next and I said I wanted to do a sci-fi in which someone from where we come from gets powers. And that was the first time I’d said it out loud,” Rapman recalled.
The filmmaker soon put his dream into action, and created a superhero show that reflected ‘a reality’.
“I grew up in South London and saw people like the characters in the show,” he said.
Titled Supacell, the series features an all-Black cast – something Rapman had never seen before in the superhero space.
“I didn’t think it would happen on a Netflix show,” he said. “So I remember thinking, if this show does get made, and they let me make it the way I want to make it, with the gore, with the blood, with the shock factor, that this could be a show where, going forward, you could have Apple saying, ‘We’d like one of those!’
“Or Amazon saying they should get an ethnic sci-fi as well. Because, when has there ever been an all-ethnic, not even just Black, cast from Britain? I’ve never seen one.
“I just hope that if this does well, it’s going to open a lot of doors. And that’s why I’m feeling the pressure, because it’s not just me – it could change British TV.”

With Supacell now available to watch on Netflix, it’s safe to say Rapman’s hopes that it ‘does well’ have come true.
Fans have described the show as a ’10/10′, with many already begging for more episodes.
“I literally just watched the whole series waiting on the second.. it was a 10/10,” one viewer wrote on LADbible’s Netflix Bangers Facebook page.
Another added: “Definitely need them to drop part 2 asap. if Netflix cancels this I’m deleting the app forever…”

Warning: This story contains major spoilers for Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black part one on Netflix.
Beauty in Black fans are fuming after spotting a major problem with the show’s second instalment.
Created and produced by Tyler Perry, the first half of the 16-episode drama dropped on Netflix on October 25.
Divorce in Black’s Taylor Polidore Williams and Acrimony’s Crystle Stewart star as two young women on wildly different life trajectories.
Struggling Kimmie (Williams) turns to stripping to make ends meet, crossing paths with jealous strip club owner Body (Tamera Kissen).
Then there’s Mallory (Stewart), who’s living the high life as a rich and successful haircare entrepreneur.
But Kimmie and Mallory soon find themselves entangled in each other’s business, with explosive consequences.
Juicy, right? You can watch the trailer below:
Beauty in Black has shot to the top of the Netflix TV charts, taking the number one spot worldwide, with Australian drama Territory and legal series The Lincoln Lawyer in second and third place respectively.
Fans were left floored by episode eight’s staggering cliffhanger that saw Kimmie slam Body with a car after she took Kimmie’s sister hostage.
While viewers say they were ‘in a chokehold’ following part one’s finale, others have anticipated a major issue with part two – namely, how long they’re going to have to wait for the rest of the story.
As it turns out, fans are going to be waiting some time for more Beauty in Black.
While an exact release date for part two is yet to be confirmed, there is a confirmed time window.

Fans have spotted a major issue with the next instalment of Beauty in Black (Netflix)
It’s thought the next eight episodes won’t drop until sometime in spring 2025.
Viewers could have to endure another five to eight months before finding out what happens next, assuming the release is between March and June 2025.
Fans are taking to X, formerly Twitter, to vent their frustration.
One declared: “Tyler Perry dead wrong for not having season 2 of Beauty in Black come out until spring 2025 wtf.”
A second fumed: “I can’t lie I finished #BeautyInBlack and ended up liking it and now I’m waiting for part 2 to come out Spring 2025.”
One person responded: “Damn. We got to wait that long?” as another complained: “Excuse me? We have to wait til WHEN?!” A third typed: “I’m annoyed cause now what ima do”.
One threatened: “Damn Spring 2025?? I don’t know if I want to binge watch it anymore lol we gotta wait that long.”
Beauty in Black is part of Perry’s creative partnership with the streaming giant, which will see him write, direct, and produce films and series under a multi-year first-look deal.
The first of the deal, legal thriller Mea Culpa, was released in February.

TV junkies cannot get over a classic ‘comfort’ series, that one viewer claims is ‘the best thing you will ever watch’.
It’s that time of year when we’re soon going to have a bit of time off work for the festive break, and with that free time, many will stick on the likes of Netflix with their nearest and dearest.
There are of course many new movies and TV series to enjoy over the holiday period, from the ’10/10′ film that’s been compared to Die Hard or Lindsay Lohan’s latest festive flick.
However, nothing beats sitting down with a glass of mulled wine and some chocolate to watch a true classic.
And there’s one show in particular that many people can’t seem to get enough of right now, with many flocking to social media to talk about it.

The sitcom has six seasons to binge (CBC)
Six seasons have been released to date, with both the second and fourth offerings sitting at a perfect 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
The series – called Schitt’s Creek – follows Johnny Rose and his family as they go from extremely wealthy to penniless after becoming a victim of fraud.
It starred the likes of Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Annie Murphy, Catherine O’Hara and Sarah Levy over the years.
Schitt’s Creek has become the hot topic of conversation on the ‘Netflix Bangers’ Facebook group after one user asked for ‘honest reviews’ on the series.
One person commented: “It is one of the BEST series ever.. loved it!!! BUT you have to push through the first couple of episodes to get into the story and characters. Then it just gets AMAZING!”

Schitt’s Creek is loved by fans (CBC)
A second added: “One of my regular comfort shows. Watched it all the way through at least 4 (or 5?) times.”
While a third claimed: “The best thing you will ever watch.”
And a fourth quipped: “I wish I could erase it from my mind to watch it all over again for the first time. Sooo good.”
Schitt’s Creek premiered on CBC Television in January 2015 and ran for a total of 80 episodes until its finale in April 2020. It went on to gain even more popularity after hitting Netflix in 2017.
Richard Lawson, from Vanity Fair, penned in a review: “It’s possessed of a loopy character logic that doesn’t always come together, but that’s sort of the fun of it. The show deftly maintains its balance of breeziness and sincerity, of zany high-comedy and well-observed nuance.”
While The Verge’s Pilot Viruet wrote: “The show is funny, queer, and silly, but it’s also appealingly warm. The writers seem to truly love their characters and want to see them happy. That shouldn’t make a show stand out, but it does.”

People are raving about a Netflix series, and it’ 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes backs up the positive reviews.
Netflix has over 2,500 TV series and, while choice is great, sometimes having too much choice can be an problem as well.
We’ve all endlessly scrolled through the streaming platform in a bid to find the perfect show, but fellow TV fans have done the hard work for you and found your next watch.
With the buckets of content Netflix adds to its service on a weekly basis, there’s a chance you might have missed some of its old (but gold) content — one example being this series from 2019.

Natasha Lyonne stars as the lead in the series (Netflix)
Called Russian Doll, the series stars Orange is the New Black favorite Natasha Lyonne.
The synopsis for the series, as per IMDb, reads: “A cynical young woman in New York City keeps dying and returning to the party that’s being thrown in her honor on that same evening. She tries to find a way out of this strange time loop.”
Anyone else getting Groundhog Day vibes?
Season one dropped in 2019, with a second following suit in 2022.
In the years since its debut, people have taken to Rotten Tomatoes to rave about Russian Doll, with one viewer hailing it as ‘hidden gem’.
Giving it five stars, they penned: “Bit of a ‘hidden’ gem in the way that I’ve never heard anyone really talk about it even though it’s been on Netflix’s front page.
“Witty, thoughtful, great acting and dialogues. I went in with no expectations and happily surprised.”
Another said of the show: “This mind bending comedy-drama is as addictive to watch as it is cleverly twisted, in all the best ways though.”
Someone else gushed about Russian Doll and Lyonne’s performance, writing: “Probably the most impressive TV show I’d seen in a long time. Excellent writing and Natasha Lyonne is amazing.”

There are two series of Russian Doll to binge on (Netflix)
Meanwhile, another fan went as far as branding the Netflix series as a ‘perfect masterpiece’.
Further noting that Russian Doll hasn’t been on people’s radars enough, a different reviewer said that it’s series ‘that deserves way more recognition’.
In regards to a third series of the well-loved show, it’s yet to be confirmed if it’s happening.
Addressing the matter last year, Russian Doll director Leslye Headland told Collider: “I haven’t heard anything [about season three happening].”
She went on: “I don’t know if it’s because Natasha’s doing Poker Face now. I don’t know if it’s gonna become a schedule thing, but I haven’t heard anything from Netflix about it.”
