Miley Cyrus revealed she ended up in hospital with an infection that stunned doctors last year.
Pop singer Miley Cyrus spoke on Jimmy Kimmel’s show on May 22 to promote her latest project and gave away some rather interesting details.
The project, is her film/album called Something Beautiful and the star spoke about the experience filming it on the Walk of Fame.
While you might think this would make for a rather glamorous affair, Cyrus explained that wasn’t exactly the case…
In fact, Cyrus revealed she ended up in hospital for her efforts, and the doctors were disgusted with how she ended up there in the first place.
Cyrus said: “I filmed this video in October and by November at Thanksgiving I was put in ICU for a moment, just for a moment.

“But it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving, there was a lot of people in the ER, people choking on turkey legs or whatever.
“My leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area. The doctor goes ‘do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap and I just saw myself and I had to tell them.”
Cyrus then began to sway, writhe and dance in her chair imitating how she moves in the music video.
She also joked about the way the doctor responded to finding out what she had been doing.
She continued: “To have a surgeon look at you and say ‘yuck’… like they open up cadavers, they see inside the guts of humans and they are looking at me telling me that I am disgusting. They do brain operations.”
Cyrus also noted that they did not steam wash or clean the floor ahead of the shoot, so the celeb really was getting up close and personal with the Walk of Fame floor.

She joked that she simply didn’t have the budget to rent out the area, instead opting to shoot in the middle of the night.
A move she might now regret as she said she felt it was going to be her last day…
She added: “I wanted this video to be so fabulous but now I’ve just told everyone such a filthy…”
Kimmel interrupted Cyrus to praise her for her ‘sacrifice’ and the pair joked that she almost gave her life for the video so they better go see it.
Something Beautiful is set to be released May 30 and the theatrical release is expected to be June 12.

Miley Cyrus has broken her silence on the rumored feud with her family.
In case you missed it, rumors have been circulating that the Cyrus family have had a bit of a fall out.
It all started when father-of-six, Billy Ray Cyrus, gave a somewhat shoddy performance at Donald Trump‘s inauguration ceremony on January 20.
His adopted son, Trace Cyrus, penned an open letter to his dad that suggested the family were worried about the ‘Achey Breaky’ heart singer and his mental health.
Trace then claimed Billy Ray threatened him with legal action over the Instagram post less than a week later, while his ex-wife, Firerose, echoed some of Trace’s concerns.

However, the rest of his brood of famous kids have been notably quiet, with only Noah and Braison lending their support to the 63-year-old.
Now, the ‘Flowers’ hitmaker has weighed in on it all for the first time after fans claimed her mom, Tish Cyrus, unfollowed her on Instagram.
Eagle-eyed social media users claim Tish snubbed Miley after the Hannah Montana star reunited with Billy Ray.
Setting the record straight once and for all, Miley posted in a story on Instagram: “I rarely comment on rumors but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us.
“She’s my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me – simple, coincidental and uninteresting.
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else.

“I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
The statement comes as Miley was pictured alongside her country singer father while celebrating Braison’s 31st birthday.
Billy posed for the snap with Miley and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, and shared the image on social media.
Days before the reunion, Billy Ray had also reshared a video of Miley singing, adding in the caption: “Can’t wait to see this young lady.”

Fans speculated the cosy snap left Tish fuming, with rumors of a years-long feud ever since the pair divorced in 2022.
A source also told Page Six that Tish’s ‘unfollowing’ of her daughter was a ‘glitch’ and that there was ‘no drama’ to be concerned about.
In 2023, Tish married Australian actor Dominic Purcell, while Billy Ray married Firerose that same year and divorced a year later.
He’s since appeared to have moved on with actress Elizabeth Hurley.

Miley Cyrus may be able to buy herself flowers, but she’s also now had to buy herself an attorney as well.
Cyrus‘ release of Flowers in 2023 acted as a major milestone in her career – from child Disney star Hannah Montana to post-teen ball wrecker before blossoming into her latest phase in the form of album Latest Summer Vacation.
Alas, the widespread success of ‘Flowers’ – streamed more than two billion times on Spotify and seeing Cyrus land two Grammy Awards – was quickly followed by controversy – the accusation the song copied a Bruno Mars hit.
While Mars himself has not accused Cyrus of copying, a company that owns a share of the copyright of his song When I Was Your Man – Tempo Music Investments – filed a civil lawsuit against Cyrus back in September.
The lawsuit alleges Flowers would ‘not exist’ without having ‘exploited numerous melodic, harmonic and lyrical elements of When I Was Your Man’ including ‘the melodic pitch design and sequence of the verse, the connecting bass-line, certain bars of the chorus, certain theatrical music elements, lyric elements, and specific chord progressions’.
When I Was Your Man was first released in 2013. For context, Mars sings: “I should’ve bought you flowers/And held your hand/Should’ve gave you all my hours/When I had the chance/Take you to every party/’Cause all you wanted to do was dance.”
And Cyrus sings in Flowers: “I can buy myself flowers/Write my name in the sand/Talk to myself for hours/Say things you don’t understand/I can take myself dancing/I can hold my own hand.”
However, on Wednesday (November 20), Cyrus’ legal team filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in California’s Central District Court.

Tempo Music Investments owns part of the rights to the song as a result of acquiring the rights to songwriter Philip Lawrence’s catalog.
Cyrus’ lawyers argue the lawsuit should be dismissed because the company and lawsuit it’s filed subsequently only represent one of the four writers who worked on ‘When I Was Your Man’ – the other writers written by Mars, Ari Levine and Andrew Wyatt – and the Copyright Acts only permits ‘a legal or beneficial owner of an exclusive copyright’ to sue for infringement.
Cyrus’ attorneys also argue while the songs share ‘musical building blocks’ there are ‘striking differences in melody, chords, other musical elements and words’ between the two songs.

Liz Hurley has given a much-needed update on her romance with Billy Ray Cyrus after the singer read out their private text messages.
It’s a pairing few of us had on our Bingo cards for 2025 when the 59-year-old British actress nonchalantly dropped a cosy pic of her with the famous Cyrus patriarch with the simple caption: “Happy Easter.”
Billy Ray, who only finalized his divorce with Firerose last year, sported green Easter bunny ears and wrapped one arm around Hurley while planting a kiss on her cheek in the snap.
That’s all we had as evidence of the pair’s apparent romance – until the ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ hitmaker finally lifted the lid on Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show, stating the two first met while filming Christmas in Paradise in 2022 where there was ‘chemistry’ between them in the few short scenes they shared together.

However, it would be another two years until things started heating up, as the 63-year-old was embroiled in a rocky period of his life with the impending divorce to Firerose, which finalized in August 2024, and Hurley reached out.
And now, the Austin Powers star has broken her silence on the relationship.
Speaking to the Daily Mail while at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation 2025 Hot Pink Party in New York City on Tuesday (May 13), Hurley said she is ‘very happy in my new relationship’.
“Billy’s a lovely man and we make each other very happy,” she added.
However, she appeared to dodge questions about whether she’s had chance to ‘spend time’ with any of Billy Ray’s sprawling famous brood of six children, which includes superstar Miley Cyrus.
The Cyruses are rumored to be in a bit of a spat at the moment, which all started when Trace Cyrus penned an open letter that the family were worried about his father’s mental health.

Trace later claimed his dad threatened him with legal action over the Instagram post less than a week later, while Billy Ray’s ex-wife weighed in to echo some of Trace’s concerns.
The other five have been notably quiet, with only Noah and Braison lending their support to their father’s music while Miley herself was dragged into it earlier this week when she squashed rumors that she’d had a fall-out with her mom, Trish Cyrus.
In the post, Miley added: “My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else.
“I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”

Billy Ray’s blossoming relationship with the British actor appears to have put a spring in his step too, revealing on the podcast that Hurley came along when he was at rock bottom.
He said he had a message from an unrecognised number that read: “Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner.”
“So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh,” Billy Ray added.
“If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman.”

Dolly Parton’s response to one of Miley Cyrus’ songs was that it’s ‘not fair’ for her to be ‘singing’.
As Miley Cyrus‘ godmother and a singer herself, Dolly Parton has always been a strong champion of the performer and her work.
However, there’s one song that Parton said she wasn’t sure if she did ‘like’ or not and it was to do with the lyrics.
When Cyrus released ‘Wrecking Ball,’ Parton said when she first listened to the song, it hit her in the same way as Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ and Parton even ended up releasing her own cover of the track.
Cyrus has released several covers of Parton’s music and the pair have also collaborated on a fair few tracks too.
However, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Cyrus explained one of her tunes released in 2023 saw Parton say it ‘should have been her song rather than Cyrus’.

Cyrus released the single ‘Used to Be Young’ in August 2023 and it debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100.
However, despite the song’s success, Parton wasn’t as much of a fan.
Speaking of her godmom’s reaction to the track, Cyrus revealed: “She goes, ‘I don’t know if I like that new ‘Used to Be Young’ song because it’s not fair that you’re singing about not being young when you’re young and beautiful.
“And here I am – I’m like 80 – and I’m like, That should have been my song!'”
However, there’s a reason the song and its lyrics are so significant to Cyrus despite Parton not initially seeing the connection.

The lyrics read: “You tell me time has done changed me / That’s fine, I’ve had a good run / I know I used to be crazy / That’s ’cause I used to be young.”
Cyrus reflected: “I actually listened to that song yesterday, and I was asking myself, Did I really need to put this out? It was one of those things that maybe now that I’m a bit more private, I would’ve kept private, but I’m happy to have shared it. It just feels like a song that’s so personal that it’s hard for people to relate.”
However, the song also has ‘healing sound properties,’ with Cyrus noting: “The songs, whether they’re about destruction or heartbreak or death, they’re presented in a way that is beautiful, because the nastiest times of our life do have a point of beauty.
“They are the shadow, they are the charcoal, they are the shading. You can’t have a painting without highlights and contrast.”
