Taylor Swift sits at the top of the AMAs chart having won a staggering 40 awards (and counting) at the star-studded night, while Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Kenny Rogers have also won several AMAs since the awards were first created in in 1974.
Typically, the ceremony is a star-studded affair with the likes of Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter, Lionel Richie, and Justin Bieber being some of the biggest names to have attended the annual event; but this year’s AMAs was notably lacking in A-listers.

Jennifer Lopez hosted the night in Las Vegas, but viewers spotted that there were many more influencers at the AMAs compared to previous years, seemingly in lieu of the usual musical talent that attended in the past.
Pointing this out, someone said on Twitter: “Why are there only influencers at the AMAs this year.”

“There’s more influencers than music artists at the #AMAs,” added another viewer.
A third continued: “Did the AMAs fall off? There’s like only influencers there not many major celebs.”

Echoing similar sentiments, someone else branded it ‘wild’ that there were so many social media stars. They said: “Oh there are SO many influencers being featured at the #amas this is wild.”
Some of the biggest names to have won awards this evening that weren’t in attendance include Billie Eilish and Eminem. Both artists sent video messages accepting their awards instead.
Interestingly, this year marks the first time the AMAs have been hosted in May. Previously the star-studded night took place in October or November.

AMAs fans confused after watching Heidi Klum’s bizarre interaction with Benson Boone before tripping over dress
The two famous faces are in Las Vegas for tonight’s American Music Awards
Fans have raised their eyebrows at the way Heidi Klum seemed to greet Benson Boone on the red carpet.
The two celebrities are amongst the many famous faces to attend this evening’s awards and, like all star-studded events, took to the red carpet before the ceremony.
Benson Boone, who is nominated for Favorite Music Video and Song Of The Year for his well-loved single ‘Beautiful Things’, rocked up in a green tailored outfit paired with a white, deep V shirt.
As he posed for snaps at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, supermodel Heidi Klum as stood nearby, and when she clocked him she did something rather unusual.

Turning to the 22-year-old, she made her way over to him and pulled on his trouser leg as if trying to rip it. Making matters even worse, Klum then tripped over the train of her dress as she made her way back over to the spot on the carpet to pose for photographers.
As you can expect, people have questions about Klum’s actions. One person penned on Twitter alongside a clip of unusual meeting: “WTF ??????”
“Heidi Klum trying to throw off Benson Boone’s clothes again hahaha,” added a second.

Others noted Klum’s near-fall, writing: “heidi klum tripping over her dress while running away from benson boone this is POP CULTURE.”
Someone replied to the post: “but why did she try to pull off his pants?”
Well, for those of you who watched the Grammys earlier this year, you might recall that Klum and Nikki Glaser were tasked with pulling off Boone’s suit ahead of his performance where he donned that very tight-fitting jumpsuit.

It was so tight that at once stage Boone had to adjust himself — and it’s safe to say the moment did not go unnoticed, so much so he publicly apologized afterwards.
Stating that his outfit was ‘extremely restricting’ in ‘certain areas’, Boone said: “Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight that thing was extremely restricting in certain areas.”

Fans point out heartwarming detail in Eminem’s grandson’s name as Hailie Jade announces birth of first child
Eminem and Hailie Jade have an incredibly close bond
It’s time to feel old, now that rap legend Eminem is a grandfather.
When Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade, announced the arrival of her first child with her husband, Evan McClintock, people were shocked.
Surely, Hailie is still the same little girl who featured on her father’s tracks, and was the subject of many of his lyrics back in the 2000s?
Nope, she’s a fully fledged grown up now, who is a mom, making Eminem a gramps!
But while it was big news, one little detail about the baby’s name has been even more of a shock, but In the most heartwarming way.

Hailie took to Instagram to announce the news today on April 4, after telling the world that she was expecting a baby late last year.
Hailie and Evan got married in May 2024, and just five months later, Eminem’s family went on to share that it would be expanding.
It was all announced via the Rap God’s music video, where he featured clips of old home videos of Hailie Jade before showing the moment that his daughter told him that she was pregnant.
Just days later, Hailie announced on her podcast, Just A Little Shady, that she was carrying a baby boy, and did a gender-reveal balloon pop to show everyone the good news.
Now that the little bundle is finally here, Hailie shared a picture of the three week old, and confirmed his name…which fans can’t get enough of as they make a cute connection.
She wrote in her Instagram caption, next to the image of her little baby: “happy due date//3 weeks earthside little e.”
His name was announced as Elliot Marshall McClintock.
Marshall is a clear reference to her father’s name, as he is Marshall Mathers.
But that’s not what shocked people.

It’s his initials.
Immediately, people put two and two together to share that Hailie had basically named her baby, Eminem.
One person wrote: “His initials are EM & M Genius! What a little cutie.”
Another said: “His initials are “Em” stop!!!!”
Someone else wrote: “His name is EM&M.”
Eminem announced his daughter’s pregnancy when he dropped the music video for his song, ‘Temporary‘, on October 3.
The song is dedicated to Hailie Jade, and the video tells the story of how the pair have grown up through the years as dad and daughter.
But in one moment, you get to see a very important woman to his music.
His ex-wife Kim Scott.
You remember Kim right? From the song, Kim…
The pair share Hailie, so of course she was going to be there for her daughter’s wedding.
In the video which shows Eminem tearing up at seeing his daughter in her dress, you can see Kim walk into the room beding them, but fans clocked her immediately thaniks to her arm tattoo.
A clip of the moment featuring Kim was shared on Twitter, and people were shocked to see her.
“Damn I was wondering who that was in the back that’s wild,” said a user.

SZA suffers unfortunate wardrobe malfunction while accepting American Music Award
Everyone was left saying the same thing about the singer’s dress
SZA mustn’t have been expecting to win any awards at this evening’s American Music Awards as the singer certainly wasn’t equipped to get up on stage.
At the ceremony in Las Vegas, SZA won best Favorite Female R&B Artist beating the likes of Tyla, Summer Walker and Kehlani.
While SZA has been nominated for a handful of music accolades tonight, her outfit isn’t terribly appropriate for getting up and down the stage steps.
After it was announced that she’d won Favorite Female R&B Artist, SZA (real name Solána Imani Rowe) needed two people to help her get onto the stage because of her extremely tight dress.

At one point she tried to jump up the steps before realizing that she almost gave fans an eyeful of her chest in the process as a result of her fashion choice.
Spotting this, she found another way to get on stage without creating a NSFW moment and ultimately shuffled her way on stage to accept her award.
Discussing her ensemble on social media, one AMA viewer penned: “LMAOO not SZA can’t get up the steps.. dress too small and falling off her ass. Top falling down. What is going on.. then for her to tell them folks she can’t get up there.”

Fans of Wu-Tang Clan are only just realizing what the meaning is behind their band name

Wu-Tang Clan fans are only just realizing what the meaning is behind their name.
The iconic collective of rappers joined forces in Staten Island, New York, in the early 1990s at the height of the American hip hop era from the East Coast.
Wu-Tang Clan consists of nine core members: RZA, GZA, Method Man, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Masta Killa and, up until his death in 2004, Ol’ Dirty B******. Cappadonna also came along as a frequent feature before being considered the ‘unofficial tenth member.’
The ‘C.R.E.A.M’ hitmakers have more than three decades of legacy behind them, long earning their stripes in the hip hop scene. However, some fans have never known how the unusual name came about with dozens of theories emerging over the years.

The ‘clan’ actually started in the late 1980s when three cousins, Robert Diggs (then called Prince Rakeem or The Scientist – and later adopted the name, RZA), Gary Grice (The Genius – later GZA) and Russell Jones (The Specialist – turned Ol’ Dirty B******), formed a rap trio.
They initially called themselves the Force of the Imperial Master, according to The Mirror, and also went by the All in Together Now Crew.
By the early 1990s, Prince Rakeem and The Genius signed solo deals, however, their labels eventually dropped them, thus prompting the rebrand with new aliases to boot.
In 1992, Dennis Coles (aka Ghostface Killah) became the fourth member and they settled on a new collective name – Wu-Tang Clan.

Fans have considered the name stands for something specific, like ‘Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game’ or ‘Wisdom of the Universe and the Truth of Allah for the Nation of Gods,’ both of which are a bit of a mouthful to say the least.
Yet according to the news outlet, the name has a far more humble beginning with the name being ripped from a cult classic movie.
Apparently, Diggs and Jones were ‘obsessed’ with kung fu films, specifically the 1983 marital arts movie, Shaolin and Wu Tang, which gave them their inspiration.
However, the group humorously kept up the gag by coming up with witty alternative acronyms for their name, like the ones fans thought it stood for.
Fast forward to 1993 and the collective dropped their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 chambers) followed by Wu-Tang Forever in 1997 which earned a Grammy nomination and shot to No.1 on the Billboard 200.

Their name also explains their seventh studio album, ‘Once Upon a Time in Shaolin’, which has its own interesting story.
It was recorded in secret over a period of six years, after which the band decided to only make one copy for the purpose of fine art – protesting what RZA said was the shift towards undervaluing music.
The album was purchased for $2 million by Turning Pharmaceuticals CEO and Donald Trump supporter, Martin Shkreli, making it the most expensive work of music ever sold.
It was seized by cops years later when Shkreli was convicted of unrelated fraud and was finally played to a select few last year in an exhibition.

Anyway, Wu-Tang Clan’s success catapulted their status which has since been lauded for bringing about the ‘golden age’ renaissance in the East Coast hip hop scene that first emerged in the 1970s from the streets of the Bronx.
The style is renowned for its lyrical dexterity, rhymes and complex metaphors, and gifted us with N.W.A, Dr. Dre, Nas and The Notorious Big while the latter’s commercial success paved the way for Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent.
As RZA once explained: “We reinvented the way hip hop was structured.”
“We still could negotiate with any label we wanted… Meth went with Def Jam, Rae stayed with Loud, Ghost went with Sony, GZA went with Geffen. And all these labels still put ‘Razor Sharp Records’ on the credits.
